Cory Solomon's father, Larry, runs the farm at Prairie View A&M University, which is his alma mater, and his mother, Caralita, also works in the agriculture department at the school in Prairie View, Texas. Soloman has two older brothers, Kenneth and Lawrence, who are also PRCA ropers. Cory and his brothers learned how to rope from their dad, who competed in amateur rodeos back in the day and Cory started roping when he was just 4 years old. He enjoys playing basketball, swimming, and traveling with his childhood friends Shane Hanchey and Tuf Cooper. Some of Cory's favorite meals are seafood and steak and his favorite film is The Blind Side

Wonthe all-around at the Nebraska's (Burwell) Big Rodeo, the Old Fort Days Rodeo (Fort Smith, Ark.) and the Adrian Foote Memorial (Newtown, N.D.).
